Individual Psychotherapy

with Rachel Bennett MC, RP, CCC

~ Soul-Centric, Holistic & Eco-Existential

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) offering virtual individual therapy for adults in Ontario and unregulated provinces and territories across Canada (currently: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut).

My approach is soul-centric and grounded. Therapy with me is not about fixing a defective person — it’s about helping you come home to yourself. Mind, body, emotion, story, and context all matter here. Together, we explore who you are beneath coping strategies, beneath old labels, beneath expectations — and begin crafting a life that actually fits.

How I Work

My Clinical Passion

My training and experience have naturally led me toward working with people navigating:

  • Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, sensory sensitivity)
  • Complex trauma (CPTSD) and childhood trauma
  • Personality patterns (often previously called personality disorders), particularly BPD and bipolar presentations
  • Long-standing relational and emotional patterns
  • The obsessive spectrum and high-intensity internal worlds
  • Burnout and nervous system dysregulation
  • Sensitives and intellectualizers who struggle to embody healing
  • Existential questioning, life transitions and identity shifts

At its core, my work supports people who feel different, intense, or deeply patterned — and who want to understand themselves rather than pathologize themselves.

My Stance as a Therapist

I am continually examining the cultural, systemic, and colonial roots of psychotherapy and working toward more relational, land-connected, and justice-informed healing practices.

As a white settler Canadian practicing on stolen Anishinabek land, I understand that decolonizing therapy is ongoing, imperfect work. I am committed to reflection, humility, and accountability in how I practice and how I understand suffering — situating pain within systems as well as personal history.

Decolonization is a collective act, but it must also be lived in individual lives and minds for it to take root in the systems that hold us. If you’re interested in decolonizing your own mind, therapy can help with that too.

I hold that people are ecosystems. Symptoms make sense in context. Healing is not about becoming someone new — it is about becoming more fully yourself.

Let’s Get Started 🙂

There isn’t one right way to begin.

Some people feel ready to book and step straight in. Others want to reach out first, ask a few questions, or get a sense of whether this feels like a good fit.

You’re welcome to choose what feels most comfortable for you.

Have a Question First?

If you’d prefer to connect before booking, you’re very welcome to reach out.

You can email me directly or use the encrypted contact form below. Whether you have a specific question or just want to feel things out a bit, I’m happy to hear from you.

Book a Session

If you’re feeling ready, you’re welcome to book a consult or your first session directly through my booking portal.

This is often the simplest way to get started, and we can use that first session to explore what’s bringing you in and whether working together feels like a good fit.

FAQ

Do I need to be in crisis to start therapy?

No. Many people come to therapy not because something is falling apart, but because continuing as they are no longer feels possible or true. Therapy can be a place to explore burnout, disconnection, big life questions, or a sense that something wants to change — even if you can’t yet name what that is.

You don’t need to justify your distress to be here.

What if I’ve already done a lot of self-work?

That’s often a sign this work will be a good fit. Many people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and well-read — they’ve journaled, reflected, learned the frameworks, and understand themselves on a cognitive level.

What tends to be new here isn’t more information, but a different way of exploring. We often approach familiar questions through creative, symbolic, and embodied pathways — working with imagination, patterns, and unconscious material that can’t always be accessed through insight alone. Sometimes this means following a different trail to a place you’ve visited before and discovering something you couldn’t see from the last path.

The work is about integration: allowing what you’re learning to land in your body, your relationships, and the way you live — so change doesn’t just make sense, it takes root.

Will this be just talking?

Conversation matters, but it’s not the whole picture. I work in experiential and embodied ways that support change beyond analysis alone. This might include somatic awareness, Parts Work, imagination, symbolism, or nature-informed practices — always grounded in your comfort and consent.

The goal isn’t to overthink your life differently, but to experience yourself differently within it.

Are you covered by insurance?

Usually, yes. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, and my services are typically covered by insurance plans that include psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist. Coverage varies, so it’s best to check directly with your provider. Please note: I only offer direct billing to Indigenous clients insured through NIHB.

What are your fees?

I offer a sliding scale to support access while maintaining sustainability in my practice.

  • Rebalancing Rate — $165 : For those with financial stability and flexibility who have the capacity to contribute a little more. Choosing this rate helps offset reduced and supported spots and supports greater access for those navigating systemic or financial barriers.
  • Regular Rate — $150 : This is the standard session fee and reflects the true cost of therapy within my practice.
  • Reduced Rate — $135 : For those who have some financial strain but can sustainably commit to ongoing therapy at a slightly lower rate.
  • Supported Rate — $110 (up to 5 sessions) : These are reserved for people who resonate with my approach and are currently experiencing financial hardship or structural inequity that limits access to care. This offering is designed as short-term support and a bridge toward stability.
Where do you offer therapy?

I provide virtual therapy to clients anywhere in Ontario and unregulated provinces/territories in Canada (currently Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland/Labrador). If you’re unsure how this applies to you, feel free to ask!

I feel like I should be able to figure this out on my own. Do I really need therapy?

Many people who come to this work are highly capable of figuring things out. Therapy here isn’t about outsourcing your wisdom — it’s about having a relational space where you don’t have to hold everything alone.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

Fit matters. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for how I work and whether this approach resonates with you. There’s no pressure to commit — and if it doesn’t feel like the right fit, I’m happy to help you think about other options.

This work tends to resonate most with people who value depth, creativity, and a collaborative process.
